Free technical education and skills development training will be offered to all Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) employees in line with a partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
The DILG-BOOST (Building Opportunities and Overall Advancement for Personnel Through Skills Training of TESDA) Project offers courses such as digital literacy, visual graphics design, 21st-century skills, and communications, among others.
“Ine-endorse ng DILG ang kanilang mga employado sa ating mga regional offices. All DILG employees can have easy access to our platform programs, yung TESDA online program,” said TESDA Deputy Director General, Aniceto ‘John’ Bertiz III at a public briefing on Thursday.

On Monday, DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos on Monday signed the memorandum of agreement with TESDA Director General Suharto Mangudadatu.
TESDA said the program focuses on providing opportunities for livelihood training programs to empower DILG personnel to acquire practical skills, and for them to find supplemental sources of income to enable holistic growth.
The skills training will also cover the dependents of DILG employees who are unemployed, underemployed, out-of-school youths, and individuals from disadvantaged and marginalized groups.
Bertiz said the organization has been also providing skills training programs to Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL), rehabilitated drug dependents, former overseas Filipino workers, senior citizens, solo parents, and displaced persons.
He noted that 8 out of 10 TESDA graduates were able to secure jobs or livelihood.
“We are focusing more on the area-based demand-driven program as well as partnerships and linkages in the industry. Meron din po tayong partners na malalaking companies and organizations wherein binibigyan po sila ng start up capital,” Bertiz said.
