The suspect in the murder of a retired Philippine Constabulary colonel in 2009 was arrested in Rodriguez, Rizal after hiding for 14 years.
According to a 24 Oras report by Emil Sumangil on Wednesday, that after the killing of Philippine Constabulary colonel Eulogio Baltazar in Mati, Davao, the 43-year-old suspect fled and hid in Surigao where worked at a banana plantation before moving to Rizal where he worked as a security guard.
Baltazar was the Provincial Environmental Officer of Davao Oriental at the time of his death.
The suspect was apprehended recently based on an arrest warrant by the Rizal Police and the PNP Intelligence Group.
“’Yung intelligence packet ay shinare ng ating intelligence group… ‘Yun nga po ang nakita sa imbestigasyon, paano ito nakapasok bilang security guard?”, said Police Colonel Felipe Maraggun.
The Rizal Police said a second suspect was killed earlier during a police operation in Davao Oriental.
