The viral hit song “Selos” by Shaira Moro is now back on streaming platforms.
No official announcement from the Bangsamoro pop singer’s camp has been made so far, but the song is now available for streaming on Spotify and YouTube.
Lenka is already credited as the composer of the song, as the track’s melody originally came from her 2008 song “Trouble is a Friend.”
This came after Shaira’s team said that they had a peaceful negotiations with Lenka’s camp which led to the positive development.
Shaira also said that there were no cases to be filed against her and her team for the initial mix-up.
“Selos,” the danceable viral hit, was temporarily removed from streaming platforms in March following issues of copyright infringement. Lenka said her team had already “taken legal action” against Shaira for using the melody of her song “Trouble is a Friend.”
AHS Channel confirmed the song’s melody indeed came from “Trouble is a Friend” and that they were working on making it an official cover.
Despite the issue, Shaira remained grateful for the popularity of “Selos” and the opportunities it has opened for her.
