Reigning champion San Beda University and the nine other NCAA teams are set for an early collision when they see action in the 2024 Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup slated on May 11.
The Red Lions will banner the 18-team field that will also include all eight UAAP teams led by reigning titlist De La Salle University.
San Beda, which won the NCAA Season 99 title, is among the favorites as head coach Yuri Escueta is set to parade prized transferee Bryan Sajonia, who is tipped to form a formidable core with James Payosing, Yukien Andrada, and Jomel Puno.
The Green Archers, on the other hand, will bank on UAAP Season 86 MVP Kevin Quiambao, Jonnel Policarpio, and Mike Phillips.
Defending FilOil champion University of the Philippines is also hungry to retain the crown with JD Cagulangan and Francis Lopez leading the pack.
Teams will be bunched according to mother leagues and will play in a single-round robin format with the top four teams each group advancing to the crossover playoffs.
