Following a successful sold-out concert last year, Rey Valera returns onstage at CenterPlay in City of Dreams Manila for another highly anticipated one-night only performance on September 26 at 9:30 pm. The renowned singer, songwriter, music director, and film scorer has been regarded as one of the pillars of OPM (Original Pilipino Music) who is behind timeless tunes from the 70s to 80s. These enduring tracks include “Walang Kapalit”, “Kung Kailangan Mo Ako”, “Maging Sino Ka Man”, “Malayo Pa Ang Umaga”, “Sa Sandaling Kailangan Mo Ako”, “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo”, and “Kumusta Ka.” He is anticipated to perform his compositions that were popularized by Rico Puno: “Sorry Na, Puede Ba”, Pol Enriquez: “Ayoko Na Sa’Yo”, and Sharon Cuneta: “Mr. DJ” and “Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko,” among others. Also known as “Mr. Hitmaker”, Rey Valera’s achievements in the music industry earned him a Lifetime Achievement Award in the 18th Awit Awards Dangal ng Musikang Pilipino presented by the Philippine Association of Recording Industries.
