Rabiya Mateo and Jeric Gonzales have been dating for quite some time now, but did you know that the Kapuso beauty queen was skeptical about dating him at first?

On Monday’s episode of “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” the “Makiling” actress got real about her relationship with Jeric who is her first-ever celebrity boyfriend.

“First time kong mag-date ng celebrity, and minsan kapag celebrity din ‘yung dinedate mo, ang daming opinyon, ang daming sinasabi about him and at first I was shaken about it,” Rabiya shared.

According to her, she didn’t know whether to believe what Jeric is showing her when they are together or other people’s opinions about him.

“Kasi ibang-iba eh,” Rabiya said.

In the end, Rabiya chose her relationship with Jeric as she saw and felt how serious that actor is to her.

“Kasi nakita ko siyang seryoso sa akin at ipinaparamdam niya ‘yun sa akin,” she said.

Jeric and Rabiya confirmed they were dating in March 2022 then sparked breakup rumors three months later after unfollowing each other on Instagram.

In a past interview, Jeric said they broke up due to a “misunderstanding.”

On Valentine’s Day last year, Jeric revealed that he and Rabiya got back together.

In November, the Kapuso actor penned a short but sweet birthday message to his girlfriend.

Rabiya is part of the GMA Afternoon Prime series “Makiling,” which stars Elle Villanueva and Derrick Monasterio.

Meanwhile, Jeric is set to star in upcoming Kapuso series “Widow’s War” with Carla Abellana and Bea Alonzo.
