MANILA, Philippines — Mrs. Universe 2023 2nd runner-up Arlene Damot sees the Miss Universe Organization’s decision to lift the age requirement and welcome married women as a progressive move.
During an interview with Philstar.com at the Royal Aesthetics event, where she serves as the chief executive officer, Arlene said that the decision to lift the age requirement promotes inclusivity.
“Lifting the age requirement for Miss Universe candidates is a progressive move, allowing more women to participate regardless of their age. It promotes inclusivity and celebrates women’s achievements at any stage of life,” she said.
She, however, said that she will not join the Miss Universe pageant to focus on her business.
“At the moment, I’m not actively considering joining Miss Universe, as my focus is on the business side. We have numerous expansion plans in the pipeline, which require my full attention. However, I’m open to revisiting the idea in the future,” she said.
She also reacted on the leaked video of Miss Universe owner Anne Jukrajutatip about fake inclusivity.
“The leaked video implying insincere inclusivity within Miss Universe is troubling and goes against the pageant’s professed commitment to diversity and empowerment. If substantiated, it could damage the organization’s reputation and cast doubt on the integrity of its selection process. It is essential to maintain transparency and fairness in every aspect of prestigious competitions like Miss Universe,” she said.
Recently, Royal Aesthetics received two awards from Galderma Injectable Aesthetics Diamond Award 2024.
The clinic was awarded with the Blue Diamond Excellence Award and Breakthrough Award.
