Philippine bet Gwendolyne Fourniol made it to the Top 25 of Miss World’s Head to Head Challenge!
The Filipina beauty queen shared the exciting news on her Instagram Stories and wrote, “Mahal na mahal ko kayo Pilipinas! Kasama ko kayo sa laban na to.”
Other countries that made it to the cut were Brazil, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, United States, Botswana, Kenya, Madagascar, Nigeria, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Belgium, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Spain, Wales, Australia, India, Indonesia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Nepal, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The Head to Head Challenge finalists were chosen based on the candidates’ speeches during one of Miss World’s preliminary events, along with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals video they submitted.
For her Head to Head Challenge entry, Gwendolyne talked about education, the UN’s fourth SDG.
“With technology, investment, and policy I know that we can make inclusive and equitable quality education a reality for every child around the world,” she said.
Aside from the Head to Head Challenge, Gwendolyne also qualified for the Sports Challenge Final.
She was among the Top 8 candidates from the Asia and Oceania group.
Gwendolyne flew to India last weekend. Before flying to the host country, she asked for support for the Multimedia Award challenge.
During the opening ceremony, Gwendolyne proudly showcased Ilonggo textiles through her national costume.
Gwendolyne took home the Miss World Philippines crown in 2022.
The 71st Miss World Festival kicked off on February 18 and will end on March 9. —Carby Basina/JCB, GMA Integrated News
