A penitent was attacked by two men while doing the Holy Week ritual of seeking forgiveness in front of a church in Angeles City, Pampanga.
According to a “24 Oras” report, Christian Pintoy was punched and hit by a slab of wood by the attackers. The incident was caught on CCTV.
He was rushed to the hospital for treatment after feeling dizzy and weak.
Police investigators said they are looking at family dispute or personal grudge as possible motives for the attack.
One of the suspects surrendered to the authorities, who was also found to be the victim’s cousin.
He will face a complaint of frustrated murder. He did not issue a statement.
