Pauline Amelinckx on Chocolate Hills: ‘We all must play a part”

Pauline Amelinckx flexed the beauty of Bohol’s Chocolate Hills in her latest Instagram post.

The Boholana-Belgian beauty posed in a white activewear set, and spoke about giving love to the environment in her caption.

“The Chocolate Hills are part of every Bol-anon,” she said. “It’s part of the land we call home, part of the soul of our island.”

Pauline added, “Now more than ever, we face the challenge of balancing progress with the protection and preservation of our natural landmarks. We all must play a part, big or small, to regenerate our earth, so it may regenerate us too.”

Pauline also said that she hopes Filipinos may not forget that this land is God’s gift.

Captain’s Peak Garden and Resort in Sagbayan town and Bud Agta in Carmen town houses swimming pools, slides, and cottages in the declared geological park.  

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) said it had already ordered the resort to be temporarily closed in September 2023, along with another notice in January 2024.

“In the case of Captain’s Peak Resort, the DENR issued a Temporary Closure Order last September 6, 2023, and a Notice of Violation to the project proponent last January 22, 2024 for operating without an (environmental clearance certificate),” the DENR said.

The Senate has urged an investigation into the construction of the resort and its structures.

On Thursday, the resort announced temporary closure.
