Suspect in custody after Huntington Hospital emergency room placed on lockdown following ‘credible threat’
A suspect was taken into custody on Friday, March 14 after Huntington Hospital went on at least a partial lockdown following what was deemed to be a credible threat, officials said.
The man was apprehended by 6:40 p.m., Pasadena city spokesperson Lisa Derderian said. The lockdown was expected to be lifted shortly after that.
The emergency room of the hospital was placed on lockdown earlier on Friday, but it was unknown if the rest of the hospital was locked down, as well, Derderian said.
All ambulances were diverted to other hospitals in the area.
“Huntington Hospital received a threat today via phone to our facility. We immediately notified the Pasadena Police Department, which responded swiftly and has reported this individual is now in custody. The hospital is secure and has resumed normal operations,” said Dorey Huston, spokesperson for the hospital.
Specifics regarding the content of the threat were not provided.
It was not clear if the man was arrested, or detained, or where that occurred. Nor were any details about him immediately known.
This is a developing story. More information will be added when it becomes available.
