Sotto: Discaya's choice of campaign venue OKd
PASIG City Mayor Vico Sotto said on Wednesday that contrary to Sarah Discaya's claim, her rival in the May midterm polls was issued a rally permit based on her specifications.
In a post on her Facebook page on Wednesday, Discaya said she requested to use Plaza Rizal as venue for her event but was ordered to relocate to Caruncho Avenue.
"We are aware that this would cause heavy traffic since it is going to be held on a Friday. We have decided to look for another venue. We do not wish to cause any inconvenience to the people of Pasig," read the post in Filipino.
Sotto replied on the comment section refuting the post.
"Oh, come on! It was your choice to move to Caruncho Avenue. If your relocation was sudden or forced, why did you have an application letter to use the westbound portion of Caruncho Avenue? Is that not what was also stated in your barangay permit in San Nicolas, as well as a proposed traffic plan? If you're going to tell a story, say the whole thing. It's dishonesty. Check out the receipts on the story on my page," the mayor wrote, pertaining to scans of documents and permits the Pasig government had issued to Discaya posted on his Facebook page.
