Go wins support of veterans group
SEN. Bong Go reaffirmed his commitment to public service as he secured the Universal Guardians Brotherhood's (UGB) support for his reelection bid.
Go's office said the UGB acknowledged Go as their "partner in community service."
Go attended the UGB proclamation assembly at the Philippine Veterans Museum in Taguig City on March 8, where he was proclaimed as one of the group's endorsed senatorial candidates.
About 350 attendees, led by UGB president Bong Contapay, and other officials of the Apex Confederacy of Guardians Organizations, attended the event.
Go's office said the UGB is "known for its commitment to camaraderie, unity, and volunteerism, has carefully chosen its endorsed candidates based on their alignment with the principles of the brotherhood and their dedication to serving the nation."
"It is time to give the UGB the chance to serve. We have the same goal anyway," the senator said in a speech in Filipino.
"My only appeal to you, UGB, is to prioritize the welfare of Filipinos, especially the poor," he said.
