Erwin Tulfo leads February survey
(UPDATE) ACT-CIS Rep. Erwin Tulfo, Sen. Bong Go and Ben Tulfo topped OCTA Research's latest senatorial preference survey.
The survey was conducted from Feb. 22 to 28 with 1,200 adult respondents.
OCTA said Sunday that if the elections were held during the survey period, 16 out of the 66 candidates would have a statistical chance of winning.
Go had 62 percent support and a statistical ranking of 1st to 3rd spots.
Ben Tulfo, who is running as an independent, had a voting preference of 59 percent, which gives him a statistical chance of taking the 2nd to 3rd spots.
Sen. Bong Revilla Jr. had a voting preference of 51 percent and a statistical ranking of 4th to 5th.
Former senate president Tito Sotto III was in the 4th to 7th spot with a support of 47 percent from adult Filipinos.
Following Sotto were Makati Mayor Abby Binay and Sen. Lito Lapid, who both had a voting preference of 43 percent which, OCTA said, translated "to a statistical chance of obtaining the 5th to 13th spot."
Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar and former senator Manny Pacquiao each had 40 percent preference to occupy 6th to 15th spot.
Sen. Pia Cayetano, Willie Revillame, Sen. Imee Marcos, and former senator Ping Lacson shared the 6th to 16th spots.
Former interior secretary Benhur Abalos and Sen. Bato Dela Rosa had a statistical chance of taking the 8th to 16th spot after obtaining 36 percent and 35 percent, respectively.
Completing the list of probable winners is Sen. Francis Tolentino, who has a voting preference of 34 percent and a statistical ranking of 10th to 16th spot.
OCTA said that most of those in the top 16 who had "a statistical chance of winning" were affiliated with the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas.
The alliance is the administration coalition.
