DPWH announces repair of busy road in Manila
THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-South Manila District Engineering Office has begun the three-weekend asphalt overlaying on portions of Maria Orosa Street in Malate, Manila.
In a social media post late Friday, the DPWH said the asphalt overlay on the street's northbound and southbound lanes began on March 7 and would be conducted every weekend until March 30.
Motorists were advised of potential traffic slowdowns in the affected areas and encouraged to use alternative routes.
"The repairs will be conducted one lane at a time, requiring partial closure of the affected portions," the DPWH said.
"After the scheduled repairs from March 7, 2025 to March 9, 2025, the asphalt overlaying activities will be carried out from March 14 to 16, March 21 to 23 and March 28 to 30, 2025 over the weekend to minimize disruptions in traffic flow."
Once fully completed, closed portions of the affected lanes will be passable to motorists the next day.
The project is part of the DPWH-National Capital Region's commitment to elevating road safety and efficiency, not just in Malate, Manila, but throughout the roadways in the region.
