The NCAA is set to kick off the Season 99 volleyball tournaments on April 7 with defending champions De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde and University of Perpetual Help System DALTA looking to extend their respective dynasties in the women’s and men’s division.
With both teams returning with an intact core, the Lady Blazers are vying to cop their third straight crown while the ALTAs will look to complete a four-peat.
The Jerry Yee-mentored crew will welcome back veteran outside hitter and former MVP Mycah Go, who came back from an injury and will bolster the roster led by Gayle Pascual and Jade Gentapa, the Finals MVPs of their championship runs in Season 97 and 98, respectively.
Also leading their three-peat bid are middle blockers Michelle Gami, Zam Nolasco, and Cristy Ondangan; setter Cloanne Mondoñedo; and libero Fiona Getigan.
Meanwhile, the Perpetual ALTAs are out to stretch their reign in the men’s volleyball.
The squad of head coach Sammy Acaylar are tipped to continue leaning on reigning Season and Finals MVP Louie Ramirez as well as Jeff Marapoc, Michael Medalla, and KC Andrade.
