The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on Monday reminded the public that number coding is suspended on March 28, Maundy Thursday, and March 29, Good Friday.

Malacañang earlier declared March 28 and 29 as regular holidays.

In a post on its social media account, MMDA also reiterated that there is no number coding during Saturdays and Sundays.

It advised the public to carefully plan their trip as it wished for a peaceful Lenten break.

In a separate post, MMDA said it will temporarily allow provincial buses to pass through EDSA during the Holy Week.

  • March 23 to 27: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • March 28 to April 1: whole day or 24 hours
  • April 2: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Provincial buses from North Luzon are only allowed up to their respective terminals in Cubao, Quezon City while those from South Luzon are allowed up to the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) and their terminals in Pasay City.

MMDA earlier said close to 2,300 personnel will be on duty as the agency implements a “no absent, no leave” policy.

Meanwhile, at least 52,000 police personnel and 427 K-9 units will be deployed nationwide to secure the public expected to go on an exodus to the provinces for the Lenten break.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
