Kiara Landon will no longer be representing the Filipino community in Washington D.C. in the upcoming Miss Universe Philippines pageant.

This was confirmed by Miss Universe Philippines – Washington in a Facebook message sent to GMA News Online on Friday.

“Yes, we [withdrew] our participation this year to prepare for the first-ever MUPh Washington pageant in July,” the organization said.

This confirmation comes two weeks after Quezon City’s Lorraine Ojimba also withdrew from the pageant due to personal matters.

Lorraine was replaced by a new representative, Cam Lagmay.

Other candidates who also backed out of the pageant were Kananga’s Natasha Jung and Angeles City’s Joanne Thornley.

Kananga also named a new candidate, Phoebe Arrianna Veloso Torita.

The Miss Universe Philippines 2024 coronation night is happening on May 22 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Reigning queen Michelle Dee will crown her successor, who will represent the country in the international pageant in Mexico.
