Mapua University and Arellano University advanced to the Fearless Four round of their respective divisions in the NBTC National Finals on Thursday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Red Robins dispatched University of Santo Tomas, 71-63, in the Division 1 Fantastic 8 round, with Lance Gragasil posting 13 points, three rebounds, and three steals.
Mapua’s Nico Mulingtapang, meanwhile, led Batang Tiaong in defeating San Sebastian College-Recoletos, 80-66. The graduating Mapua player had 26 points and 8 rebounds in the win.
The Braves, meanwhile, advanced to the semifinals of Division 2 after defeating Khalifa Cebu, 83-81.
Aside from Mapua and Batang Tiaong, Adamson University and Fil-Am Nation Select complete the Fearless Four of Division I, while Division II will have Arellano, Eco-Green Makati, Top Flight Canada, and Philippine Christian University-Dasmariñas.
