Kyle Villamor continued his brilliance for San Sebastian College-Recoletos, steering the Stags to a 25-18, 26-28, 25-15, 25-13 win against Lyceum of the Philippines University in the NCAA men’s volleyball tournament on Friday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.
Villamor, who was coming off a big game during their comeback triumph against Mapua University last Tuesday, poured in 23 points all on attacks alongside 13 digs and 15 receptions as they improved to 2-0.
The Stags are now tied with San Beda University and Emilio Aguinaldo College at the top of the standings while the Pirates fell to a 0-2 hole.
Joshua Espenida was also on target for San Sebastian, finishing with 20 points anchored on 17 attacks, three blocks, and one ace while Rhenmart Alba and Cedric Lim each had 11 markers to help the cause.
LPU remained searching for its breakthrough even with Jun Edang’s 22-point outing that came on the heels of a 28-point performance during their tough five-set loss to San Beda a few days ago.
Edang got help from Jhon Aquino, who had an all-around showing with 12 markers, seven digs, and 16 receptions.
