The clutch gene runs in the Thompson family.
On Sunday, Justin Thompson delivered the game-winner for Top Flight Sports Canada as they defeated Eco Green-Makati, 95-93, in overtime to bag the NBTC Division 2 title.
“Way to battle hard! Proud of you, brother,” Scottie wrote in a post on Instagram as he posted Justin’s game-winner.
Justin, meanwhile, admitted he was feeling the pressure as his brother and other PBA stars were watching live.
“Na-pressure ako kasi nandun ‘yung mga sina kuya Chris Ross and other PBA players. Tiwala lang sa sarili ko and kay God na binigay sa amin talaga ‘yung panalo ngayon,” Thompson said.
[I felt pressure because Chris Ross and other PBA players were there. I just trusted myself and God who gave us that win today.]
Thompson added that his performance in the victory will be a boost for him as he is expected to step up for University of Perpetual Help System DALTA in the upcoming NCAA Season 100.
“Nakaka-boost po ng confidence sa akin kasi sa incoming Season 100 ng NCAA, maglalaro po ako sa Perps. Malaking boost po sa akin para sa career ko at sa laro ko.”
[It’s a boost to my confidence especially as I will play for Perpetual in NCAA Season 100. This is a big boost for me and my career and my game.]
