Gilas Pilipinas and Barangay Ginebra reinforcement Justin Brownlee is bringing his act overseas as he signed with Pelita Jaya in the Indonesian Basketball League.
Pelita Jaya made the announcement on its social media account on Wednesday as they welcomed the 35-year-old veteran.
In a previous interview, Gilas and Ginebra head coach Tim Cone said they already gave permission to Brownlee to take his talents elsewhere while he’s on a break from his duties for the national team and the PBA.
Gilas Pilipinas will take a long break before reconvening days in late June for the 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament while the PBA is now staging the All-Filipino Conference.
In Pelita Jaya, Brownlee will join a star-studded roster that already features Indonesian team standout Brandon Jawato, former PBA TNT import KJ McDaniels, and ex-NBA player Thomas Robinson.
Pelita Jaya currently ranks fifth in the ongoing Indonesian league with a 7-1 win-loss record.
