MANILA, Philippines — Ayala Corp. (AC) chairman Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala is proud of his son Jaime Alfonso who has been named as a 2024 Young Global Leader (YGL) by the World Economic Forum (WEF).

In a social media post, Zobel congratulated Jaime Alfonso, who is currently CEO of AC Mobility. He said the YGL community is an excellent forum for business leaders around the world to collaborate on new solutions that have a transformative impact on their respective country’s economy, society and environment.

“I look forward to seeing Jaime and the AC Mobility team apply the learning and global best practices from YGL to their efforts in building the leading sustainable mobility ecosystem for the Philippines,” Zobel said.

Jaime Alfonso, one of the next generation leaders of AC, has been included in the WEF’s Young Global Leaders Community Class of 2024.

The Class of 2024 is composed of nearly 90 changemakers “who are shaping the future and accelerating positive change through their groundbreaking work.” Others in the business sector who are also part of the Class of 2024 include Masao Koyama, head of Carbon Dioxide Removal, Mitsubishi Corp. and Roshan Ahmad, global head of Sovereign Advisory, JPMorgan Chase & Co.

WEF said the Young Global Leaders have made invaluable contributions to shaping policies and improving communities worldwide.

Jaime Alfonso assumed a series of key leadership roles in AC shortly after graduating from Harvard University.

These include leadership of the strategic development group where he drove capital deployment into high-growth sectors that have a transformative impact on the Philippines’ economy and communities.

Jaime Alfonso is currently CEO at AC Mobility, AC’s mobility arm which aims to build the first and the largest electric vehicle platform in the Philippines.

He is leading the transformation of the company from a business predominantly focused on selling vehicles to an end-to-end mobility provider spanning services, infrastructure and digital platforms.
