The Indian government has invited President Ferdinand ”Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for a state visit to India.

Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, India’s Minister of External Affairs, conveyed the invitation during his courtesy call on Marcos on Tuesday. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi looks forward to welcoming Marcos for a state visit.

In a press statement, the Presidential Communications Office said Marcos ”welcomed” the invitation.

Jaishankar said it would be nice if Marcos’ visit will coincide with the 75th anniversary celebration of the two countries’ diplomatic relations.
