Han So Hee confirmed that she is dating “Reply 1988” star Ryu Jun Yeol, a day after her agency denied the rumors.

The actors sparked romance rumors on Friday after they were spotted together in Hawaii. However, So Hee’s agency said that she was on vacation “with close friends.”

On her personal blog, So Hee wrote a lengthy statement confirming the relationship, but said that it did not overlap with Jun Yeol’s previous relationship with singer and actress Hyeri, with whom he was together for six years before their breakup was announced in November 2023.

“For the past two days, there have been people who were greatly surprised and hurt by news about me, and you were very surprised, right?” the South Korean actress said in her post, as published by Soompi.

She also said that she wrote the post to lessen her fans’ hurt and to communicate with them directly instead of relying on news articles.

“First, it’s true that we are in a relationship with positive feelings. However, I hope that people will not use the word ‘transfer,’” the “Nevertheless” and “Gyeongseong Creature” star said.

She shared that they met at an exhibition, and she said hello to Jun Yeol when she heard that they might be working together on a project.

It was in the beginning of 2024 when they entered a relationship, and Jun Yeol’s breakup with his ex happened in early 2023, she added.

“I heard that news articles about the breakup came out in November. Based on this fact, I confirmed my own feelings, and I kept going with the relationship,” So Hee said.

She also apologized about her cryptic Instagram Story, which she posted after Hyeri shared a photo of a vacation spot with the caption, “This is funny.”

So Hee had seemingly responded with a Story of her own, saying, “Explain this situation… I don’t like people who have a significant other, I don’t lead them on while saying we’re just friends, I don’t take an interest in them, I don’t develop a relationship with them, and I don’t get in the way of other people’s relationships.”

However, she now says that her post was “pathetic and lame.”

“I should have just stayed still, but even though I didn’t want to see rumors and claims that I started dating [Ryu Jun Yeol] before his breakup, I still saw and heard them, so I temporarily lost all reason and behaved rudely.”

So Hee did not name Hyeri but said, “I will apologize to that person regarding this fact, and I sincerely apologize to you all for not reacting wisely. Because I acted based on my emotions rather than rational thinking, I acknowledge that this is completely my fault, regardless of my reasons.”

She then thanked her fans for the continued support.

“I have no doubt that I will become a better version of myself, and thank you for supporting me. I’m sorry and apologetic, but because of that, I want to do better,” she said.

“I will learn how to control my greedy self, and I will greet you as a more mature version of myself. I’m sorry for coming to this blog, which I only visit a couple of times a year, with this kind of gloomy post. It’s morning now. Please make sure to eat. Stay strong,” she added. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
