The men’s team of Gilas Pilipinas bowed out of contention in the 2024 FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup as it absorbed back-to-back losses in the tournament’s pool stage on Saturday in Singapore.
The team composed of Yutien Andrada, Ping Exciminiano, Chester Saldua, and Joseph Sedurifa fell to Australia, 21-13, before losing to Japan, 22-12, in the Pool C games.

Only the top two teams of each group will advance to the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, the Gilas Pilipinas Women will gun for a semis berth as it takes on Chinese Taipei in the quarters on Sunday.
“As we prepare for Chinese Taipei, we told the ladies to just stick to what we are doing, the process of what we are doing,” Gilas Women assistant coach Mark Solano said.
“We’re going to have some adjustments kaya non-stop scouting kami ng mga coaches.”

Gilas Women will face Chinese Taipei at 1:10 p.m. on Sunday.
