Gabby Eigenmann is grateful to be back at work promoting the upcoming GMA Network series “My Guardian Alien” after weeks of loss and grief.
Early this month, it was announced that Jaclyn Jose, veteran actress and the mother of Gabby’s half-sister Andi Eigenmann, had died.
“It’s nice to go back to work kasi nga the past few weeks [medyo] has been really heavy sa family,” Gabby said at the media conference of “My Guardian Alien.”
“Actually, in the middle of the whole week na during the process of the wake, nakapag trabaho ako in between. I just needed a new scenery, so that helped a lot,” he added.
He also said that the family is still in constant communication, “kami ng mga kapatid ko, especially si Andi.”
“We’re okay. We’re holding on to each other, giving each other strength as we face a new life,” Gabby said.
Gabby and Andi have the same father, the late actor Mark Gil. Gabby is his son with Irene Celebre. Gabby joined Andi at a press conference, wherein she announced that Jaclyn had died due to a heart attack.
According to Gabby, he was one of the first people whom Andi called to inform about her mom’s condition. The actor quickly went to Jaclyn’s house only to find her lifeless on March 2, which coincided with his 46th birthday.
Following Jaclyn’s passing, Gabby promised to be there for Andi, her three children, and Jaclyn’s child with Kenneth Ilagan Gwen.
The Eigenmann family, celebrities, and industry colleagues are mourning the award-winning actress and have paid tribute to her on social media.
Among the stars who gathered at Jaclyn’s wake include Jake Ejercito, Dingdong Dantes, Alden Richards, Barbie Forteza, Andrea Torres, Gina Alajar, Gladys Reyes, Dominic Zapata, Ina Feleo, and many more. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
