The Department of Health (DOH) has issued a Code White Alert for all of its hospitals in anticipation of the travel rush of Filipino families during this year’s Holy Week break.

In a statement, the Health department said the Code White Alert will start on March 24, Palm Sunday, and conclude on March 31, Easter Sunday.

When the Code White Alert takes effect, identified medical personnel and staff are placed on standby for the immediate acceptance and treatment of incoming patients at hospitals.

The DOH activates the Code White Alert during national events, holidays, or celebrations, which the agency said “can cause potentially mass casualty incidents or emergencies.” — VDV, GMA Integrated News
