The city government of Baguio announced Friday the suspension of work in its offices starting 12 noon of March 27, Holy Wednesday.

In a memorandum posted on its social media account, the Baguio City government said this is “to give employees additional time for reflection and devotion on the observance of Holy Week.”

Malacañang earlier declared March 28, Maundy Thursday, and March 29, Good Friday, as regular holidays.

However, employees in departments involved in the provision of law enforcement, health services, critical emergency services, and disaster risk reduction and management should maintain a skeleton force “to ensure continuity of the delivery of vital services to the public.

Among these are:

  • City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office
  • City Building and Architecture Office
  • City Engineering Office
  • City Environment and Parks Management Office
  • Health Services Office.
