“Avatar: The Last Airbender” got renewed for two more seasons, and lead star Gordon Cormier is feeling the love.
The Aang actor shared some behind-the-scenes snaps from the series’ first season on Instagram and wrote that he was very excited to tell fans that the series is getting Seasons 2 and 3.
“I wanna give a huge thank you to all of the fans for all of your support, to all cast and crew, the gang at Rideback, and to all of the people at Netflix who made this show possible,” Gordon said.
“It has truly been an amazing lifetime experience, and I’m extremely grateful to get to spend the next few years of my life working on this show,” he added. “Thank you guys all so much, and see ya soon!”
“Avatar: The Last Airbender” premiered on Netflix on February 22.
The show is a live-action adaptation based on the widely popular Nickelodeon animated series that ran from 2005 to 2008. The story follows Aang and his friends as they hone their skills and attempt to end the Hundred Year War in order to bring back peace among the four nations.
It stars Gorden as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, and Dallas Liu as Zuko.
Gordon and Dallas were recently in the Philippines to promote the show.
Gordon said he was happy to be back home in the Philippines, whereas Dallas said the weather here is similar to the Fire Nation.
