The Ateneo de Manila University took down University of the Philippines, 22-25, 20-25, 25-22, 25-17, 15-9, to barge into the win column of the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Lyann de Guzman had 24 points off 19 attacks and four blocks, while Sobe Bueno had 18 points for the Blue Eagles which improved to 1-2.
Steph Brustillo led the Fighting Maroons with 17 points as the Diliman-based squad remained winless in three games.
Earlier, National University swept Adamson University, 25-17, 25-20, 25-20, to improve to 2-1.
Alyssa Solomon had 17 points, while Bella Belen had 15 points for the Lady Bulldogs. May Ann Nuique had nine points for the Lady Falcons as they went down to 1-2.
