TOKYO — Reigning WBC world bantamweight champion Alexandro Santiago is rooting for his old foe Jerwin Ancajas over WBA world bantamweight champion Takuma Inoue.

Santiago, 28, is slated to fight on the same card with Ancajas on Saturday, February 24 at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan, where he defends his world title against two-division champion Junto Nakatani.

“I think it is a good fight. Hopefully, he [Ancajas] wins the world title,” Santiago said in a chance interview.

Ancajas and Santiago traded leather atop the ring almost six years ago in a bout that ended in a draw. Eager to settle the score should he triumph over Nakatani, the Mexican says he would like to run it back with Ancajas in a unification showdown.

“Probably we can make a rematch; champion versus champion,” Santiago quipped.
