Antipolo City’s Carolina Bamboo Garden is set to hold its 24th bamboo seminar this month, ready to welcome interested participants who want to learn more about bamboo, one of the best-loved sustainable resources in the country.

Launched in 2000, the garden houses indigenous and exotic varieties of plants and is a venue for conducting research on aspects of bamboo production.

A project of the Majent Foundation and the Ecosystem Research Development Bureau, Carolina Bamboo Garden aims to help create an ecologically balanced environment through the propagation and distribution of exotic and indigenous bamboo seedlings.

As of this writing, there have been 45 bamboo species collected and successfully cultivated in the garden.

Among the topics to be discussed in the upcoming event are bamboo growing, management, propagation, and harvesting, bamboo processing and utilization, the LBP lending program, and more.

While at the garden, you will also have the chance to visit their interactive bamboo museum, bamboo treatment and bamboo propagation areas, and its focal point, the bambusetum, which is a gene bank conservation area for various bamboo species in the Philippines.

Carolina Bamboo Garden is also home to a butterfly garden, a multi-purpose gazebo, a unique bahay kubo, a “Stairway to Heaven,” and lots of intricate bamboo crafts.

The bamboo seminar is priced at P2,400 for each participant and will take place on March 16 at 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Carolina Bamboo Garden in Sitio Tanza II, Barangay San Jose, Antipolo City.

You may register at Carolina Bamboo Garden’s website or send your registration form containing your name, address, birthday, company name and address, contact number, and email address to carolinabamboogarden@ymail.com.
