The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG– ASA) may declare the dry season early, amid the expected termination of the northeast monsoon.

MANILA, Philippines — Close to 2.5 million people traveled by sea during the Holy Week, according to the Philippine Coast Guard.
PCG records showed there were 1.29 million and 1.16 outbound and inbound sea travelers, respectively, from March 25 to March 31.
PCG commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan commended PCG employees for prioritizing public service.
Aside from maitaining peace and order and ensuring safe maritime operations, PCG personnel assisted passengers during the Holy Week.
On March 26, a woman jumped overboard from a vessel that was sailing to Oriental Mindoro from Batangas. She was rescued and given medical assistance.
On March 28, a vessel ran aground as it was sailing to Polillo from the port of Real in Quezon province.
The PCG used private motorized boats to rescue and ferry people back to Real.
