MANILA, Philippines — A man died in a fire that hit a residential area in Barangay 176, Bagong Silang, Caloocan at past midnight yesterday.
The fire, which started before midnight on Thursday, killed Mories Delis, 25, a delivery boy who had been renting one of the apartments. Another resident, Alejandril Lalata, was injured.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire at around 1 a.m.
The affected families sought shelter at a covered court while one family decided to stay with a relative.
Arson probers have yet to identify what caused the fire, which destroyed around P150,000 worth of property.
