The Supreme Court (SC) has opened a one-stop shop building for court concerns.
According to the SC, the one-stop shop houses functions of the Judicial Records office (JRO), Fiscal Management and Budget Office (FMBO-Cashier), and the Office of the Bar Confidant (OBC), which will directly deal with the public under one roof.
The building is located at the gate of the new building along Padre Faura Street in Manila.
“Separate windows have been designated for those filing initiatory pleadings and petitions, and those for subsequent pleadings. Both are directly encoded into the system immediately upon receipt to curb delay, with the initiatory pleadings being prepared for raffle,” it said.
Meanwhile, with the inclusion of the OBC, the court said the one-stop shop will receive requests for certifications such as for bar memberships, bar ratings, good standing (no pending case), verification, bar examinations abroad, as well as receiving administrative cases and complaints against lawyers.
The SC said more windows will be added during bar season to accommodate bar applicants and candidates.
According to the court, the FMBO-Cashier windows are also a welcome addition, saying that it was a source of frustration for court filers as they would have to beat the cut off.
“With the new one-stop shop, filers are served promptly with the added convenience of the Judiciary e-Payment System,” it said. —Joahna Lei Casilao/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
