Sara to join PDP Miting de Avance
VICE President Sara Duterte is set to join the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP)'s Miting de Avance or final campaign rally before the elections, scheduled for May 8 in Manila, as she continues to barnstorm the country to campaign for the "Duter10" senatorial slate.
She confirmed her appearance in a chance interview with reporters during her visit to Bohol on Monday night.
She said she had agreed with PDP Secretary General Wendel Avisado that she would attend the Miting de Avance since she could not join the group's other campaign sorties.
The PDP is set to hold major sorties in key cities across Luzon and Mindanao, with rallies to be held on April 30 in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan; May 2 in Trece Martires, Cavite; May 3 in Butuan City; May 4 in Quezon City; May 5 in Cainta, Rizal; May 6 in Pasig City; and May 7 in Muntinlupa.
Duterte earlier visited all six districts of Manila, using the rallies of Manila mayoralty bet Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso to campaign against House representatives who were instrumental in investigating her confidential funds, which led to her subsequent impeachment: Manila Reps. Rolando Valeriano, Joel Chua, and Bienvenido Abante.
She later visited Cebu, where she was joined by Sen. Imee Marcos and PDP Cebu bet Pamela Baricuatro.
During her visit in Cebu, Duterte reiterated that she could be the next one to be arrested by the International Criminal Court, alongside reelectionist Sens. Ronald dela Rosa and Bong Go, as well as former police generals Oscar Albayalde, Vicente Danao, and Romeo Caramat Jr.
"There are many of us on the ICC list," she said in Filipino.
"Yes, I am in the list, there are many more who are in the ICC list. I knew that when I arrived (in The Hague where her father is facing trial for crimes against humanity), and I got surprised that whenever I visit there, they stop and record my conversation with President Duterte, so we understood that they were listening to our conversation," Duterte said.
