The officials unveiled the 150th bus shelter installed under the Sidewalk and Transit Amenities Program (STAP) since its launch in 2024, at the northeast corner of Olympic Boulevard and Vermont Avenue.
STAP “prioritizes shelter, shade, safety and comfort … with the goal of ensuring 75% of all bus riders in each Council District are able to board buses from locations with a transit shelter,” according to officials.
The program will eventually provide 3,000 new shelters and other planned sidewalk amenities, officials said.
