THE Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila (RCAM) has officially appointed Fr. Roy Bellen as the new president and chief executive officer of Radio Veritas on Friday, the Church's flagship media outlet for evangelization through social communication.
"In our earnest desire to sustain the ongoing evangelization programs of the Church... and cognizant of the power of all the means of social communications for the mission of new evangelization, we hereby appoint Rev. Fr. Roy M. Bellen as President and Chief Executive Officer of Radio Veritas," the statement reads.
The appointment was announced by the Archdiocese's Office of Communications, underscoring the church's commitment to harnessing the media's power in meeting the faithful's spiritual needs and responding to the demands of the times.
The appointment takes effect on Saturday, granting Bellen all the prerogatives and privileges inherent to the position, unless revoked by the archbishop or his successor.
Bellen, who has been active in church communications for several years, is expected to bring renewed vision and leadership to Radio Veritas as it continues its mission of spreading the Gospel through modern means of communication.
