Man killed, woman injured in East Los Angeles shooting
One man died and a woman was wounded in an early morning shooting in East Los Angeles on Monday, May 26, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
Around 2:30 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a gunshot victim on the 300 block of South Woods Avenue, where they found a 51-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman suffering from gunshot rounds, the department said.
Paramedics treated the victims and then transported both to a nearby hospital. There, officials said, the man was pronounced dead and the woman was in stable condition.
Homicide investigators are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the shooting. They have not released the man’s identity pending notification of his family.
