Hikaru Utada Celebrates ‘Electricity’ Remixes Release with 4k Upgrades of 22 Music Videos, Including ‘First Love’
Tokyo, Japan ー Hikaru Utada released Electricity Remixes as a limited-edition vinyl, featuring three remixes and the original version of “Electricity” from the J-pop superstar’s acclaimed best-of album SCIENCE FICTION. Remixes by internationally recognized artists Karen Nyame KG, Arca and salute have already sparked excitement among music fans in Japan and around the world since their earlier digital releases. Alongside the vinyl release, the digital EP of Electricity Remixes is also now available. In addition to the previously released tracks, it includes the instrumental version of “Electricity” for the first time, offering fans a new way to experience the song. To mark the occasion, 4K upgraded versions of 22 classic Hikaru Utada music videos, including beloved titles such as “First Love” and “Automatic,” are now streaming across major digital platforms. These visually enhanced versions, first introduced on YouTube in 2024, are now available in high quality for fans everywhere. In addition, for fans in Japan, a special campaign celebrating SCIENCE FICTION is now underway at Tower Records stores across Japan and on the Tower Records online store. The campaign commemorates nearly one year since the SCIENCE FICTION TOUR 2024 and offers fans another opportunity to engage with the celebrated project.
