Go Negosyo reaches out to young entrepreneurs
ENTREPRENEURSHIP institution Go Negosyo reached out to senior high school students at the San Francisco High School in Quezon City on Friday.
More than 1,500 senior high school students took part in the GoNegosyo Youthpreneur, a mentorship program for young entrepreneurs.
Education Secretary Sonny Angara thanked Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion for organizing the biggest turnout for the program, as well as the mentors for sharing their life lessons to the young people.
"What the mentors will share here today cannot be found in books because they are real-life lessons," Angara told the participating students.
Concepcion, who spoke in a recorded message, told the participants to "dream big" and to "surround themselves with mentors."
"Character formation is important, and a lot of it comes from parents, from mentors, from good friends," he said in the video message.
Mentors in the Youthpreneur program included R. Lapid's Chicharon owner Violy Lapid, Car Magic Auto Painting and Street Smart Magic General Merchandise owner Graciano Salvador, Kim Store founder Kim Lato, Brew & Co. owner Mika Leetong and content creator Reymond Delos Reyes.
Mercato Centrale founder RJ Ledesma presided over the program.
Angara and Concepcion were also joined by Department of Education NCR Regional Director and Officer in Charge for the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Operations Jocelyn Andaya, Assistant Secretary for Operations Malcolm Garma, CESO V School Division Superintendent Carleen Sedilla and officers of the Quezon City local government unit, and Quezon City Schools Division Office.
The private sector was represented by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Quezon City.
The GoNegosyo Youthpreneur program reached out to over 6,000 public school students, visiting 22 schools nationwide.
