Go, Erwin Tulfo lead in latest Tangere senatorial survey

(UPDATE) SEN. Christopher "Bong" Go has seized sole possession of the top spot in the latest 2025 Pre-Election Senatorial Preferential Survey by Tangere, commanding an impressive 59.3 percent voter preference.

Go now stands alone as the undisputed frontrunner, landing within the Top 3 in all 17 regions of the country — a feat unmatched by any other candidate in the race.

Sen. Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa, long regarded as a dark horse, was catapulted into a statistical tie for third place after a dramatic 10-point surge.

The former police chief's resurgence was powered largely by a swelling base in Visayas and Mindanao, a development analysts say could signal the awakening of the so-called "Duterte heartland."

Trailing Go was ACT-CIS party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo, who secured 55.1 percent of the voter preference and whose strength was anchored in Northern and Central Luzon.

Ben Tulfo, the media firebrand and Erwin's brother, has carved out his own identity in the race, rising with significant support among millennial and Gen Z voters, pushing him into the same statistical tier as Dela Rosa and Sen. Bong Revilla.

Meanwhile, former Senate president Tito Sotto continued to draw stable support, landing just outside the top three.

Not far behind is Sen. Pia Cayetano, who maintained a loyal voter base among working professionals and women.

Former Interior secretary Benhur Abalos also posted notable gains, particularly in Southern Luzon and the Bicol Region, pushing his numbers into competitive territory.

Sen. Lito Lapid and former senator Panfilo Lacson were also in contention, each securing solid support from traditional constituencies.

Former senator Manny Pacquiao, despite a quieter campaign, remains within striking distance of the top 12, while Sen. Francis Tolentino's late surge in Central Luzon and Metro Manila was seen as a possible sign of shifting momentum.

Vice President Sara Duterte's recent endorsements have begun to shape the contours of the race as Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar experienced a modest two-point increase, keeping her within reach of the winning circle.

Sen. Imee Marcos also saw a 3.75-point rise, particularly in Mindanao, where Duterte's base remains loyal.

However, that same endorsement may have cost her support in Northern Luzon, where her numbers noticeably declined, sparking speculation about voter backlash in the Marcos stronghold.

The Tangere non-commissioned nationwide study was conducted from April 22 to 25, 2025, with 2,400 respondents.

The survey's reach was comprehensive, capturing sentiments from NCR (12 percent), Northern Luzon (23 percent), Southern Luzon (22 percent), Visayas (20 percent), and Mindanao (23 percent).

Using stratified random sampling with a ±1.96 percent margin of error at a 95 percent confidence level, the poll offers one of the clearest snapshots yet of the evolving political terrain.
