MANILA, Philippines — Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla Jr. admitted yesterday he is going through “complications in his immune system up to now” since undergoing a heart bypass surgery last year.

“But I’m OK. I am on the way to complete recovery. But it will take some time,” Remulla told reporters yesterday, weeks after his last appearance before the media.

At 62, Remulla acknowledged that his body has become weak, but he assured the public that he is able to work from home effectively and discuss issues with his undersecretaries and assistant secretaries.

“As long as I’m able to fulfill my responsibilities and lead the department, I will continue serving,” Remulla said, downplaying rumors about his state of health.
